if your going to dump that kinda money mights as well do it right, don't forget about the labor involved in maching the cases, and installing a new sleeve, plus dont even think about going with a bore of that size on a stock rod(i smell trouble) send it to a builder and get almost twice the power as a "do it yourself" build,
PERFECT example,
i met a guy at gordons well about a 2 years back, back when their were no fast raptors in that area. and he was beating me by about 2 length everytime, so i inquired about his raptor and his build, hes runns a powroll 770 with web cam, and ported head.
barley beating me by 2 length, ha
now that my MINOR motor work is done im sure i could of beat him, or atleast tied.
i've said this once and ill say it again, going big on your bore doesnt mean your going to get big number, sparks 690 are killer bikes, and are notorious for being fast, then hang with the bast of them, rapfam;s 730 can barely beat his dads sparks 690, thats if they switch tiders, if each on pilots their own bikes the 690 gets him almost everytime.

Stay away from the Stage 2 hotcam if you wanna go REALlY FAST...Try the Megacycle x-4 instead. You can try to save money and build your own 727....but most piped raptors probably wouldn't be far behind you...If you want it done right and go REAL FAST...have it built by a guy who knows those motors inside out and upside down.

Pretty much the only thing that Bob is going to do that you cant buy off the shelf is the head porting. Otherwise its all the same parts, so as long as the head is ported well it will be fine.
Thats about 80% true...I'm afraid it's a little more involved than that. There are special little add ons that make the difference between a home made job and a professionally built job...Trade secrets if you will....

Excellent website CTRACING.com allen knowles is a awesome guy, with legendary performacen on 2 strokes, and his recent turn to 4 strokes also, he sells that 680 kit its going to put about 54 hp. buy the FCRs and the CDi, you might hit 58hp. my stoke bore pulls 53 hp on that same dyno..BIGGER IS NOT BETTER.
Stallion and I see eye to eye on builds(trust me, were good friend)
Same dyno stallions craycraft 686 low comp, pulls 59ish hp. and mine will pull 53hp stock bore(666)
and stallion is on the stock carbs! damn good power for his build, same with mine i have damn good power for what done to my bike.
if YOUR lookin be over 60-65 hp youll need over a 690 bore, but dont be surpirsed if every 690 kills your home build 727 on the hill, yeah "go out to your favorite riding spot" and COPY the build of other bike, why even f-ing bother, just listen to the people on this damn forum, most guys on here know the damn raptors INSIDE and OUT, i myself am one of them.
VERY IMPORTANT POINT NOTED FROM THE RECENT RACING COMPETITIONS
MR.Hp DS650 stock bore literally killed almost every bike on the hill, every stock bore atleast, and i know it will kill me in a race.... let alone stallion 686, even rapfam 730 would be a challenge.
its came in s2nd or 3rd place in the damn builers class, it came right behind the fastest bike out their the GPracing 780 stroked raptor from miami. which was HELLA Fast
i've also know for a fact that Bob Barker is making a stock bore raptor in the 60 hp range.
Do you damn research, do it right or plan on doing it again.

Holy smokes! When did he quit the Price Is Right and start building Raptors!?! LOL. I think you meant Tim Barker.
BTW, Tim is not the only one that can build a 60 RWHP stock bore. I know there was at least one in attendance last MLK weekend.

for the money you are planning on dumping into a half a$$ed 727, you could have a reputable builder make you a 686 that would more than likely be faster.....
i was likeyou........i thought I was going to take the cheap way out on the 740.....I assembled it myself and still had nearly 5gs in it.......
I would recomend a hot 686 LONG before i would suggest you blindly going into a 727/740 build....

ha ha, yeah i meant tim barker.
no doubt that their are a lot of builders out their making that kinds power on stock bores, its crazy.
im only familiar with maybe 10 of the builders, i know MR.HPs DS is making that kinda power, i just wish the people on this forum would REALIZE that you dont have to have a big bore to get those numbers, as far as i know a big power is just going to give your more torque then a well build smaller bore.

Hey guys, im going to get a job really soon and start saving for a craycraft 686. I was wondering, how much is it to get a HOT 686? i want to keep stock Carbs. How much is it for the Port & Polish, Oversized Valves, 11:1 Piston, Mega Cycle X 4 cam, springs, so on. For all of you who have got one, how much is it with shippinG? thanks..
