well see around here in the summer the dust is terrable and i didnt want to take the lid off because dirt is a motors worst enemy but i was considering some holes or vents

 

how much horspower does a jet kit and k&n air filter usally bring in also with a pipe sorry

 

On an ex I think you would be lucky to get 4 hp from the whole setup over stock.

 

i know it wouldnt be a whole lot but more than 4 the pipe alone is supposed to give u like 4 or more

 

Remember the old dirtwheels 400ex pipe shoot out? I think the biggest gain was under 3hp.

I've never personally seen one gain all that much power, especially a big seat of the pants increase. But hey, who knows...

 

hey maybe you could help me. i was wondering if you know about what size jet i would need if i was running a pro circuit t-4 pipe? i was going to put a few holes in the air box or take it away all together. i live at 3500 feet if that helps.

Here is my set-up. You can adjust yours as needed, but this should give you a decent baseline.

DR D slip-on
Lid removed
Sea level, 50-70 degrees F
172 main
45 pilot
stock needle 5th clip
Fuel screw 2 1/2 turns out

Try those settings first, and see how it responds. Use the above post on how to set your fuel screw. You have a different pipe than me, but I imagine that will get you close. You will need to fine tune it for your set-up, and riding conditions.
