Should I Change my Rod(02 Raptor)
I am concerned wherther or not I should be thinking about changing my connecting rod. My Current mods are full sparks x6 system, k&N filter and adapter....I will be going to a 101mm(673cc) Wiseco 11:1 piston, stage 2 cam, kibblewhite springs. Should i be concered? if it were yours would you be replacing it?
Thanks A Lot

Should I Change my Rod(02 Raptor)
I've been running a similar setup (mine is a 100mm 11:1 wiseco) on a stock rod and crank for the last year with no problems. I inspected my rod and crank when I changed the piston and they looked fine. I would say that if the rod looks good when you take it apart you are probably good to go.
I cant recall ever hearing about anyone that has busted a rod that wasnt running fairly high compression or pushing 60+hp.

I HIGHLY recommend it! I've read to many bad stories of peoples rods breaking after those mods. It realy sucks to put all the money and labor into an engine to have it COMPLETLY destroyed after 4-5 rides! Trust me, I'm one of those unlucky people! If you're gonna spend all that money on your Raptor then a $200 stronger rod is nothing and will save your a$$ in the long run. It ends up costing more to fix it than it did to do the initial mods, so keep that in mind. Just do it while the engine is tore apart and you'll never have to worry about it again...good luck.
