Your wasting every yamaha owners' time, everytime you come in and post your useless thoughts. If you have such a great ride why dont you go back to the forums over there and stay out of any referring to the Raptor. Because you are really getting No where here. Like you are going to change my mind or any one else's who have ridden both machines. It isnt going to happen. Ive ridden every sport ATV known to man except 250ex or Gas Gas or Husaberg or Cannondale and some of the euro quads. Ive ridden for 15 years and this is what I can tell You. As far as The Raptor goes it is the most well designed ATV I have ever seen. No Its not strictly a racer like a 250R, no Its not a lot of things, But as a total package it is the Top Performance package for riders everywhere. It has very good suspension, light for its size, high revving torquey engine, very nice finish and looks, very good lighting, radial tires,well designed frame geometry, Reverse, very good jumper, and at 75.5 mph its fast enough for most anything you can imagine. It is an awesome package from headlights and handgrips, to seatcover and suspension, and to handling and highspeed, there is just not anything made with this many good components. Now you can argue for your DS all you want but Until they are made with all of the anemities like Reverse and twin carb 5 valve head, You are Wasting Your Time And Everyone else in the Yamaha Forum's time also.

 

I never said i had "such a great ride". Your the one talking up your raptor like its king of the world. I never said "my ds will beat yours" or your raptor will break as you did my ds. And the Ds is a good handler, great Shocks, good seat to the handgrips....the only thing it lacks is the less weight and the "5 valve head". But then can ti say "where is the Raptors Dual overhead cam"? that 5 valve head didnt really do anything for that raptor but clean up the throttle response. And if i wanted reverse, i would have bought a quad that had it..am i right? ANd if i wanted my ds to be 6 inches shorter (width) then i would have bought something else. The thing is YaMaHaRaPtOr, that i bought the Ds for My needs, not yours, and not anyone elses. As you did the Raptor, so when you argue and say the raptor is all this and all this..that is stricktly your opinion and i'm sure everyone elses that rides a raptor, and when i say that the Ds is good at this or good at that, its my opinion. One opinion does not matter over another, so this argument we have going here is getting nowhere fast. I say we just Leave it at the Raptor and the Ds are great machines for what they are made for. They both shine somewhere. But if you want to continue to fight with these stupid comments (were both making), then keep them comming.

 

Well stated, you bought the DS650 for your needs, not anyone else's on this forum. Just as everyone else does, so I cannot see any point in this constant bickering. Ride what you have fun on, and thats all you need.

 

The Raptor is typical Yamaha: Build an awesome engine and forget about the rest. You guys are just pissed because you expected the Raptor to be different. It sure is nice to see that they kept the good ol' reliable Banshee airbox design. It's so the dealers can make money rebuilding them every time someone puts the filter in wrong.

I'm glad I own a Honda, something that's as reliable as a Mack truck.
I used to come to the Yamie forum to read things about the banshee. But all anyone does anymore is complain about their Raptor or put everyone else down.
