Honda's Answer to the Raptor
#11
Raptormasher,,,great name (what a ****)I picked up my Raptor on the east coast while I was at a race, I ride for Yamaha so I guess you can say I was pushed to the front of the line to get one, and as for breaking it in, it doesnt take that long, especially when I dont work for a living (I get paid to ride)one full day of riding will break in any bike. Jealousy is an ugly thing when you let it get out of hand, so dont worry what your friends will
think and trade in that piece of crap you ride and get a real bike (a Banshee or any Yamaha dirt bike) you probably thought I was going to say a Raptor, like I said the Raptor is/was for my girlfriend, thats what 4-strokes are good for; girls and little boys who cant shift well enough to ride a pipey 2-stroke. nuff said,,,,

Joey,
I too am quoting DIRT BIKE. 287lbs with oil and coolant. I do not own one however my friend does and we weighed it at his shop. Could you tell me which DIRT BIKE issue you saw that in? I couldn't find anything that said the bike weighed 305 dry. I'm sure you're right though.
By the way, you used the word "your" incorrectly. It should have been "you're". Like the weight issue, just trying to help you out.
I'll be looking for you next year on the circuit. I've got a couple of Yamaha's in the garage too. A WR500 and a YZ426. Funny, the 4stroke seems to be faster than the 2stroke, at least where it counts, on the track.
Could you tell me your AMA number? I'd like to follow your progress. Mike LaRocco grew up down the street from me and I go see a race here and there.
Look forward to hearing back from you. -RT

I don't think the engineers at Honda were surprised by the Raptor. Honda will take a year or two to respond. Yamaha has always made very good sports quads & motorcycles. The only major competion to Yamaha is Honda. Polaris doesn't make a "true" sports quads. Bombardier only has 1 sports model.
My question is how much more expensive will quads get before the buying public says no more?
