Default Separating Raptor Carbs

I am going through the carbs and wanted to separate them. When I try to remove the synchronizer guard, the 2 screws the hold it on are really on there. I don't want to mess up the screws. Is there a trick for getting them out? Is there any real reason to separate them or can you clean them without separating them? Thanks

There's no need to separate them. Been into mine dozens of times.
