Some people just can't help being an A$$ can they?? One thing for certain the Warrior has on most any other quad out there is durability. Takes a beating and keeps asking for more ...

What are you waiting for??? Trade that puppy for now while they are willing to give you $$$ for it. Even if you put 2k into your Warrior, I doubt it will be as fast or torquey as a Raptor660. Keeping the Warrior would also be futile, as Ozark said, it will just end up collecting dust in your garage once a 'big brother' comes into the picture.

I traded my 2002 Warrior in for a 2004 Raptor and even though I LOST a little money on the Warrior I have no regrets. I've had 2 Warriors and loved 'em both but they just don't compare with the Raptor. Even more than the power difference is the suspension and handling improvement. I was always bottoming out on the Warrior where the Raptor lands like I'm barely pressing it. You can sure make improvements to your Warrior but it would be hard, maybe even impossible to make it compare to a raptor. The Warrior IS reliable but I've had my problems with them just like any of these machines. They all just seem to run forever when you take care of them. Look at all the old three wheelers out there that STILL run like new, many of them stock and with un-rebuilt engines! No matter what you ride this is an AWESOME hobby though.

Other than the DS-650X, I don't even look at anything other than Yamaha and Honda. And yes, I have taken a Z400 for a ride and it was pretty fast, but once you have been on an shee that you can't even feel engline load when shifting gears, its not a matter of speed anymore. I just feel there is a bigger history behind Yamaha and Honda. I mean what seems cooler? "oh there is another guy on a Z400" or "WTF is that guy on that warrior doing"

Now i'm not trying to start a Flame test.. so if your not open minded then don't read below this line.

Wasn't there a known frame cracking problem with the early Z400s that they had to fix?

For an 17 year old design, Yamaha didn't have to change very much to keep selling Warriors. A nice face lift and some tweaks and its still going strong as the Raptor 350. You can walk into a Yamaha dealer and still see the classic lineup, other than the Warrior being the Raptor 350, you see a Warrior, Banshee and Blaster.

The fact that Yamaha puts the same 350 CC engine on some of their 4x4s is yet another point.

Its like being part of a group. If you know someone who has a Warrior your going to know someone with a blaster and a banshee. They just keep turning up.

I'm going to keep the Warrior. I'll be proud to say i'm the original owner when its still running in 15 years.

A friend of mine has a 400EX and I love it. I love my Warrior but I also like 400ex's That long 3rd gear is perfect for messing with people. You can be riding next to them and punch it and just feel it lay down the power.

Congrads on your decision to keep the Warrior. Its a well proven quad. I meant no disrespect with the "wimpy" commit. I was just trying to say that when it comes to the Raptor most anything (including my 400EX) feels wimpy.............
