Default Raptor Pipe Thread for Big Carbs

I had bought a new midpipe from CT to clearance my 39mm FCR's. But a friend of mine had a full FMF and wanted to upgrade so he bought the whole CT pipe from me and I need a new one.

Here is the way I see it, Sparks, LTE, Barker. I'm not even sure if MBRP still makes pipes and I wasnt all that impressed with them back when they came out anyway.

LTE makes the least power, then sparks, then Barkers from what I understand. But hp intervals appear to be around 1-2 hp, not 5 as some may say. So what do I get? I am not looking for a drag bike, I race flattrack and ice and I need the bike to pull out of the corners so a top end biased drag pipe isnt going to help. Are the duals going to be a significant gain, or can the Sparks flow enough with a single? Thanks.

I don't know much about the sparks pipe...so "no" comment......The Tim Barker pipe "reads/sounds" like a good pipe......I have seen the LTE in action, and i did speak with Randy Looney in great lenth at dunefest last summer.....I was very impressed with his knowledge of how his exhaust system is engineered & designed.....The LTE pipes can be tuned for most RPM ranges also.
When the time come for my monster trail, DUNE motor; i'm going with the LTE exhaust for my Craptor......jmo

I have experience with Sparks,MBRP(drag pipe and the full race system)and Barkers with FCR carbs. They all work. The drag pipe would prob be out of the question for you though. The Sparks and MBRP are very close imo.The Barkers do not seem to have the mid range (hit) the the others do.But do make more peak power. Sparks are very popular (as we all know) and MBRP will clear most FCR setups depending on the intake setup. There are 2 different MBRP full systems. I have the Race series with the 1.5" head pipes and straight through silencer(and it never needs to be repacked). I have only seen the LTE pipes they LOOK nice but I don't care for how the pipe crosses over to the left side. I have been through a bunch of setups and exhaust. I like the Barkers most overall especially with my current set up for mostly drag racing.

My MBRP is for sale
A friend of mine will be relisting his Sparks on Ebay due to a non paying bidder

Bro....look into the Sparks...I'd sell ya mine but I keep it for a backup. I swap between pipes depending on the riding I do. Sparks for desert racing and Barkers for drags racing.. The Sparks has a little more mid range hit and the Barkers have great top end.The Barkers are much quieter than the Sparks. If ya don't like it...you can always sell the Sparks pipe...it'll go fast too. I've had 12 offers for mine already and I haven't even said it was for sale yet.

Thanks for the input guys. My bike should be done in the next couple weeks and I'll be needing a pipe for jetting purposes by then. If the Barker setup truly loses a little midrange to the Sparks or others then I may have to nix that item from my list. After all, I need midrange more than top. I'll be running an X4 MC cam so I think I'll have all the top I can handle.

Scholle, I may be interested in the Sparks if you friend gets ready to sell it again. Let me know when he puts it up or maybe we can work something out beforehand and keep some money out of ebay's pocket. Also, shoot me a PM about the MBRP I'll consider that one as well. I was going to buy a new one, but if I can buy a used one in good shape there's no reason not to save a little money.

So I'm leaning on Sparks right now. I too was not particularly impressed with the routing of the LTE pipes or the mounting to the fender brackets and not the sub-frame. I really dont have any info on the MBRP, I heard great things but it never seemed to catch like sparks did. Of course, 14mins and other CCR guys were out here pushing it as the best thing made so there was plenty of "great things" being said and I never really heard how they performed for Joe Schmo. I'll probably be looking to buy soon, so if anyone has any more input please share it. Thanks.

For what you want, I don't see why you wouldn't want the Sparks.

I'll have a set of Barkers next week though...

I've pretty much decided that's the way I want to go.

I'll probably have to start another thread for this, I didnt see much on the search. But has anyone used the disc style spark arrestor on the Sparks and was it any quieter? The CT was pretty quiet considering and I'm a little worried about db levels for the dunes and local hills. Is the endcap riveted in or screwed on the open tip and the disc style tip? And if I remove the arrestor for a race am I going to have to rejet for it.

Also good enough for at least 3 less hp over the sparks on a stock bike. Since its the same price, I'll skip out. Doug Gust gets paid to run them, and the yoshi is still not the best pipe for the Z. Thanks for the suggestion though, I do appreciate the effort.
