advice please.... banshee bogging out.

yah, i did this earlier today. it was very black and wet. but i just dont understand because it was seriously running GREAT when i took it to knolls one week ago. now, all of a sudden it is acting up. that is the only reason why I dont think it is the mixture/jetting

Sounds like you're running too rich.Might try 280's then recheck the plugs.Slight changes can affect the performance of your bike.A buddy of mine had a banshee with pipes and K&N filters and so did mine.Mine was jetted two steps up from his.One time we was racing and I could beat him by about a bike length.A month or two later we raced, and he could beat me by about a bike length. We had not changed anything on the bikes.I did not think slight weather changes would make that big of a difference.I would not have believed it unless I saw it,but it did happen.Don't give up on the Banshee.Anytime you make changes to your bike you may have to dial in your bike, but trust me it's worth it when you get it right and beat your buddies.

ok. that was what i was thinking originally. but why in the world could my banshee all of a sudden run like crap for no apparent reason. there were NO weather changes. I dont think you guys understand how it is running. when i have it in neutral, I apply 1/4 throttle.. sounds normal. but once I apply anything over that. it bogs out. IN NEUTRAL!!! My understanding was that the mains usually only affected the high end performanc.e

Hey you might be right. It might not be your jets at all.Don't change them just yet.The t.o.r.s.(throttle override system) on the carbs. mess up some times. Those bulky things on top of the stock carbs.Back when I had stock carbs.all I did was wash mine one time, and mine did the same thing yours is doing.Sometimes it's more than that.First, don't think I'm crazy. There's a black wire that runs from your carbs. to the clutch lever perch.Unplug the wire from the perch. It should have a plug that goes into the perch.Cut the wire about 2 or 3 inches from the plug. When you cut it,you'll find two wires.Cut a small piece of the plastic off each of the ends of the wires, and wrap them together.Don't connect the wires to the wires that go to the plug. Please remember this just something to try,and I don't guarantee it will fix your problem, but I think it will.Restart the bike and see if it worked. If it doesn't,unwrap the wires and connect them back to the plug.Let me know how it goes.
