Default Blaster help please

ok......so i needed to clean my k&n airfilter after all the mud splashing into my airbox and i needed to clean my carb.........so i went and bought carb cleaner and k&n airfilter maitnence kit........so i did the airfilter and cleaned it up and let my quad idle without the airlid or airfilter for about 1 min.......sounded funny but neways i put my airfilter back on and my quad was bogging down........sputtering had no power........then i waited a little wile and i started it again...........well i tried to IT WOULDNT START! so i took out my sparkplug and it was charcole black i think thats rich but not sure........so i cleaned it with a brush and gas and put it back in.........it started but would turn off if i didnt stay on the gas........it wouldnt idle at all............so i put the idle all the way up so it would idle normall and it did and i was hoping that by then the carb cleaner would have gone through.........(its the kind that you pour in the gastank) and i drove it and it ran like $hit...........idk wat else to do?!

There is probably alot of crap that go sucked into the motor, but I don't think thats causing the problems your experiencing.

Your diagnosis was correct: black sooty deposits on the plug means its too rich. Putting the filter back on made it more so (cut down on air flow). Either there is a problem with the float level inside the carb, or you have a sudden lack of vacuum. My vote is for the first one. Running carb cleaner through the tank will only clean the fuel path into the carb - over time. Check the float level and the cleanliness of the needle & seat; if it won't shut off, it will flood. If everything in the carb checks out ok, start checking for vacuum leaks, 2 strokes are very sensitive to this problem! Even so much as a loose oil cap can cause problems (rough running, hard starting, false rich condition). Check your air filter too; too much oil can cause its own problems.
