I own a 2004 Yamaha Blaster and I started it up and and for a few seconds it was running fine, then the transmission made a few clicks and pops and it stalled. I tried to start it up, but the kickstart was jammed, it would not budge. We took off the case, tinkered with things, washed the gears with oil a few times and a ball bearing and a spring fell out. We cant figure out what it might be. I was torquing it alot since i was in glamis and popping wheelies up hills and stuff, and that might be the problem, too much stress, but its only about a year and a half old so it should have lasted. The only mods on it are a toomey b1 racing pipe and kit with the jetting, and the airbox lid off.

 

uht oh!!!!! it sounds like some1 has a freshly melted piston!!!! ya buddyy pretty sure ur seized up there .......sorry to hear it worrys me every day

 

Yep, your problem isn't your kickstarter I would bet. Sounds like a seized engine. Been there, done that. Good time for a big bore or at least a high comp piston. Age has less to do with your problem than either lean jetting or maybe not enough oil in your pre-mix.

 

Happend to me a few too many times.. lol.. anywaymy brother had an 04 blaster and it had a two year warranty that covered the motor... Make sure you dont have that, cuz it does sound like a motor [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
