that may be the problem!!I don't know what size my gears are, but it does appear that I wind out the motor rather quickly. I do a lot of trail riding, some dragging, and occasionally on a small track, what gears should I run?? My warrior seems to have good bottom end (don't know anything else to comapre it to), it pulls hard, but if I change gears for more top end, will I lose a lot of that pulling power?? I will count the # of teeth on the gears and let you know later what they are and maybe someone out there can give me a suggestion as if this may solve my problem. thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!

dondiesel8, If you have the stock c/s sprockrt, it is a 13 tooth, whixch is why I suggested using a 14 tooth to approximately restore the gearing to what it was with 22"tires. Warriors will easily pull a 15 tooth if you wish to get a little more top end. You will lose a slight amount of torque at low end, but I have never felt handicapped by it with 20" Bandits.

Hot_shoe-
Will the Warrior easily pull a 15? I have a 14 with the 20" Bandits and I run mostly high speed fire roads and some jumping. I always want more top-end then I have, but I'm not sure it will pull a 15 tooth?

PC_350_Warrior,
As long as you aren't doing a double or tabletop right after a 90+deg turn, there should be no problem. I've run a 15 tooth for a year or more and if these 20" Bandits EVER wear out, I think I'll try the new 22" Bandits & I'm quite sure I'll still pull a 15 c/s with plenty of low end. Might have to to a little clutching, tho.

Ijust counted my # of teeth, I counted a couple of times to make sure I was right, the front small gear has 12 teeth and the large rear gear has 40 teeth. You say stock there are 13?? I wonder why someone would put a smaller gear on?? I just got my Warrior about 3 months ago, I bought it with a lot of bolt ons, but mechanicaly it was stock, execpt for ITP alum. wheels, the 20x11x9 Razrs which I still have and love, and the place where I got it said that they put new gears and chain on not so long ago for the previous owner, since then all I have added is a Uni filter and a Cobra exhaust, so should I try a 13 or 14 tooth gear to get some more speed?? what about the rear, is it 40 stock??

hot_shoe_cv, what mods do you have on your warrior, you say it still pulls hard with the 15 tooth, and what type of terrain do you ride?? thanks for the info so far!!

I have no idea why anyone would use a 12 Tooth unless they wanted to pull stumps with the quad or try to make a utility out of it. The rear is stock at 40 T. If you want to restore the gearing closer to stock with your 20" tires, get a 14T. c/s sprocket. If you need more top end, use a 15 T.
I ride mostly desertXC & tech trails in the cooler weather, & woods at 7000'in the hot weather.

A 13 front 40 rear is stock gearing with 22" tires. If you go to a 14 tooth it should put you close to stock gearing with the 20" tires you have. You should have no problem pulling a 15 tooth. You may loose on the bottom slightly but like what was said in the other post for trail riding you won`t miss it. If the 15/40 combo is too tall maybe 14/39 will suit you. Which is what I ran on mine but it had a 435 kit. HTH
PS. You may need to add links as there is not a lot of travel in the chain adjustment.

My warrior also came with a large rear rack, from what I got out of the dealer, the previous owner was a female, she was the second owner, and the dealer sold the warrior to her also, she apparently used it for chore work (explains the rack) and traded it on a brand new 4x4. Maybe they instlled the smaller gear to help her with the clutch or to make for a low first gear??

What should I do?? I heard you are supposed to replace both gears and the chain all together, but I don't think mine are too old, so should I be alright just rplacing the c/s gear?? Where do I get one and about how much do they cost?? Thanks again!!

Also my chain is kinda tight now, I had the dealer sdjust it when I bought the warrior, and there is barely any threads left to make the chain tighter, if I replace the c/s gear, do you think I will have problems with the chain?? If I think right, a gear with more teeth will be larger, and in turn make the chain shorter, so I will have to loosen my chain as it is now, so I think I will be alright. I think I may go with a 14 t, whatcha think??

I think you will be happy with the 14 for all around riding but I`m not sure if you will beat the Blaster. It`s hard to call. The chain should be ok.
