I can say from what everyone has told me, don't get a liter bike as your first, its not very forgiving. It WILL own you. I personally want an R6, they're definately fast as crap, and for a sport bike, pretty comfy feeling. But you should also know i've never ridden a bike (just sat on a bunch of them at the dealership). But the thing about liter bikes is true, they aren't forgiving. If you want a liter bike, go with an FZ1. My friends dad got one and that thing is crazy fast.

There isn't a whole lot of physical size differences in the bikes. 600's are a little shorter and lighter, and can carve tighter and lay down faster, and that's why they're more popular for racing. 1000's and the 'Busa are fine if you want to hunt down something a few miles ahead of you on an interstate, which is also fun, but not for noobs!! I gotta 02 GSX-R 600 and I'm 6'3", 255#'s and have hit 167mph in 45 degree weather (cold air helps) and can hit 133 mph in 2nd gear in a 1/4 mile. I say get a sport bike like a katana first, not a super sport (GSX-R). It is awful easy to let them get away from you. But once you get used to them, check out my pics for what fun they can be!!

Have you looked at the GSXR750? Its alittle bigger than the 600 and has alittle more power and looks the same as the 600.

my first street bike was a 04 R1.........

you can start out on a liter bike if you are responsible enough....

just take your time

I miss mine......but I knew I wouldn't live to be 22 if I didn't sale it.........
I looked down at my speedo a couple weeks b4 I sold it nd I was runnin 192........that is the point I decided it had to go........

When i turn 18 im getting a Yamaha R6...almost as fast as the bigger guys, lighter and smaller. and anything over 750cc's has a luxary tax on it...i think.
