I can say from what everyone has told me, don't get a liter bike as your first, its not very forgiving. It WILL own you. I personally want an R6, they're definately fast as crap, and for a sport bike, pretty comfy feeling. But you should also know i've never ridden a bike (just sat on a bunch of them at the dealership). But the thing about liter bikes is true, they aren't forgiving. If you want a liter bike, go with an FZ1. My friends dad got one and that thing is crazy fast.

There isn't a whole lot of physical size differences in the bikes. 600's are a little shorter and lighter, and can carve tighter and lay down faster, and that's why they're more popular for racing. 1000's and the 'Busa are fine if you want to hunt down something a few miles ahead of you on an interstate, which is also fun, but not for noobs!! I gotta 02 GSX-R 600 and I'm 6'3", 255#'s and have hit 167mph in 45 degree weather (cold air helps) and can hit 133 mph in 2nd gear in a 1/4 mile. I say get a sport bike like a katana first, not a super sport (GSX-R). It is awful easy to let them get away from you. But once you get used to them, check out my pics for what fun they can be!!
