Default Yoshi slip-on/head pipe ???

i had a Team Suzuki Yoshi slip-on on my Z400, and when I decided I wanted a head pipe I called and was told that the slip-ons were designed for the stock header and they couldnt help me. Now that I have a full yoshi, i see why.... the yosh headpipe is much larger than stock and it would be pointless to have a huge headpipe going into the stock sized opening. Just a thought....put the slip-on on ebay and buy the full.

You have a Raptor. Unless you just want to save weight, it'll be pointless for you to get a header pipe for it because the stock Yamaha pipe is either bigger or the same size, so all you'd be saving is maybe a pound or 2 from weight (not like you'll notice 1 or 2lbs anyway). Thats why Yamaha's respond so well to just a slip-on, the header pipe is about as good as it gets from the factory.

Actually the smaller diameter GYTR header is the best for an otherwise internally stock machine. The stock pipe has a little better top end, but falls far short of most aftermarket headers in terms of flow from a modified engine.

Just sell the slip on and get a new full system. I believe FMF and HMF may offer an aftermarket head pipe that would fit a stock sized silencer though.

Default Yoshi slip-on/head pipe ???

a few years back i bought a yoshi slip-on and then a white bros head pipe, but this was for a 300ex. back then white bros just made the slip-on e-series and then came out with the head pipe a couple years after. dont know if this will help.

For those that don't believe the head pipe helps, go to HMF's websit and look at their dyno results of the slip-on and full system.

400exkiller990,
Pro Circuit, MBRP headpipes should work. Maybe WB or FMF, but I'm not sure.

Just call each company and say that you have a slip-on from their company and ask if the headpipe will fit your slip on from their company. If it does, you could use that headpipe with your Yoshi.

Make sense?

Go for it and ask, but the person may not know or understand your question. I was trying to help by avoiding their sales pitch saying you should just buy our full system. Know what I mean? Plus some sales people are ignorant about their own products much less their competitors.
