You two are probably going to be pretty close with the mods you've described. This is assuming you guys are comperable riders.
2fun: We got the drag race out of our system tonight, We ran a 600 ft drag, here were the results. We did it from a dead stop and he took me for 100ft then I blew by him and left him. We did it from a 1st gear rolling start and I stayed ahead of him all the way. I didn't think my new shee would stand that good against his 450 but it did. I also got some bad info before I bought the shee, it's not as built as I thought? It has T5 pipes, cyl. bored .30 over, carbs bored to 27.5,stock reed cages ported, carbon tech carbon fiber reeds, pro flow K&N, ported and polished, wicked motorsports head, 21cc domes and thats it, no torquer crank it is stock. All and all we had a good time switching back and forth and racing the quads, I dont think the neighborehood enjoyed it as much as we did LOL. I have always been a 4 stroke guy and will always love the torque of the rappy but this Shee chit is awesome power. I posted a pick of it if you want to check it out? Talk to you later. Rotty

Your shee still has a ton of stuff done to it so don't feel bad. I've heard that head porting alone adds almost 10hp. So about how many lengths did you beat him by?

In the full 600 ft, about 4 or 5 bike lengths, we raced in a grassy field so everytime I shifted the tires would spin and he would get closer until I hooked up again, were gonna do it again at the dunes this weekend to see for sure what that thing will do. I'm pretty stoked about the shee, I bought it from a buddy at the yamaha shop. He told me he would sell it to me for $3000 so I sold my wifes warrior for $2600, so I basically traded the 2000 warrior and $400 for the shee. You guys wouldn't happen to know anyone with a +2 swingarm for sale would you? I dont know why this one has a -1 on it but it sucks!!!

Congrats bro! Sounds like you beat him fair and square!
That Shee probably IS extremely wheelie prone if indeed you do have a -1 swingarm on it!
Perhaps the guy before you raced MX???
I would think it pretty rare for someone to put a -1 on a Banshee, then again, I only ride Sand, and not MX. Perhaps it is more common for mx?

I forgot to ask if his (YFZ450) had an aftermarket pipe, and if so, which one does he have??

yea but that shee is basicly stock. a bore does next to nothing along with the boost bottle. If the head doesnt have that small of domes ( I assume they wernt small because you didnt mention race gas) then it is basicly a piped shee.

Well, those are pretty decent mods to the YFZ. Not a lot more you are going to get out of it unless you dive into the motor. That is good that you were able to beat him (though you DO have a port/polish, etc)

As for the Idaho website, I'll have to put that on my LONG list of things to do! Sounds like a fun place. I'm pretty busy with school and all right now, not to mention I am a member of 5 ATV websites, and a moderator of one as it is!

My group usually goes to St. Anthony annually. We will again be going this coming June 13th-17th.
It'd be cool if you guys could show up for a day trip or two.

I read it as ported and polished which is nowhere's near stock!
I know for a fact that a Banshee that is only piped will in no way hang with a piped, properly jetted YFZ.
