My nieghbor has a4 year old son, he RACES snowmobiles against 6 and 7 year olds, and beats them too. He also has a little arctic-cat quad that he rides. He is i guess advanced for his age, but id say definetely ready to begin riding youth models at 5-7 years old.

Started my daughter at 6 on the LT80. She's done real well with it. My youngest was 4 at the time - she just wasn't ready - I let her steer and control the throttle a little bit with me on the back but that was as far as it went. I'll let her give it another try this year and see how she does.

Yes, he seems advanced for his age. One almost has to consider each child on an individual basis based on size and knowledge.

thanks for replies , I think i decided to wait a year and buy him the bigger electric one for now, he is just still a little to fearless is my concern. Ill let him wreck a plastic one some for a year maybe that will help lol. Was originally going to wait till next year when he is 5 but after the fun he had this weekend was thinking maybe he'd be ok, but rather be safe than sorry thanks all
