Default Grizzly in mud?

I am about to buy a Grizzly but before I do I was wandering how they do in the mud/water? I have a buddy with a 500 h.o. and that thing does real well in the mud, so how does the grizz compare? Also is the grizz a reliable machine, and I have heard that they are tippy but how tippy are thay? thanks.

I have an 04 grizzly...With stock tires they go through more than you would think, i havent got new tires yet, hopefully this summer, you can go through water up to the racks untill it goes into the belt intake. But i wouldnt go that far unless you snorkel it. If i was goin to buy another quad i would definetly go with the grizz.

To help you out, I have had a Grizz for a few months and I have yet to be able to get it stuck. It's totally reliable, No problems for me. Not tippy at all as far that goes. I ride mine on the highways (legally) and turn at high speeds and have lots of fun. The grizz is lighter than the 500 so you should actually do better in the mud. I would recommend getting new tires for it as there a lot of forum members that say the stock tires are worthless. I still have the stock tires and do just fine. TW

My wife claimed my 04 Grizzly and I could have bought any quad I wanted. I bought a 05 grizzly. We put 26 inch Dirt Devils on them and it's awsome. The only problem we found is they are cold blooded in the winter. We put in line water heaters in them and have no problem starting them up when the temp gets -20 and lower.

Running a Grizzly into water up to the racks can run the risk of having water enter the carb intake. This is not good for the engine because it can hydro-lock. Not good. Could be the death of a good motor.

I don't really see that as a problem, it's just common sense. And all ATV's will drown if you sink them. If you want to run in water/mud up to the racks, snorkels are in order. I have never done, it, I have ran in water over the wheels and it didn't have a problem. You can do anything in the world with these machines as long as you think about it first and don't get retarded, they will last forever.

The dealer I am getting the Griz at has it for $6199 for standard colors and $6399 for the LE Black. They are 05's. Is this a good price?
