I saw an ad for a 1500 pound winch in a recent magazine (I think it was ATV Sport). Anyone ever given this winch a try? How useful is a 1500 pound winch anyhow? I'd just like the security of pulling my buddy's polaris out of the mud and taking alot of pictures [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

It should work alright for quads. If you double up the cable on a pulley, you increase your pulling power and put less strain, on your winch and quad. I put a champion winch on my Z400[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] used it to pull out 2 polaris' that were stuck, mid-way up their engines in mud[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] I have pictures of the winch in my bio page. Didn't have a camera[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] when I pulled out the polaris' [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
