Default Newbies first post - Yamaha EFI for '06 models???

Have to admit it, I've been a lurker for awhile and just joined the forum as I plan on buying a couple ATV's (one for myself and one for the wife). Have heard the rumor from a variety of folks that Yamaha will be coming out with EFI for '06, possibly in 450 and up. Does any one have any knowledge on this??

I wouldn't bet on it. There are rumors of this kind that surface every year but nothing comes of them. Until sales of the raptor decline, you probably won't see any significant changes to it. Kind of goes with the old saying of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it...". As long as the raptor's sales are up, Yamaha isn't going to screw with it. Happy Riding.

Hi All,

I'm a newbie too, though I've been into ATVs for a long time.

Back to the point, here's a link to the first 06 model that I can find it it still shows a carb. I think the "if it ain't broke..." argument is holding very true.

Cheers,

I did talk with a large volume Yamaha dealer today who felt certain that the grizzly would have a bigger "makeover" than normal, did not know if it would be EFI. Probably thought the Kodiak as well as those two are so closely related. We'll find out June 12th. I think I'll wait until then to purchase.

I read somewhere where maybe they are making a 800cc utility with efi. I think it was even a twin cylinder(not a V twin just a twin). Dont know how true that is, or when it would be coming out.

Sweet, that would be awsome if it was true. An actual 800cc(not a polaris 760cc) with EFI, and its a twin.
