Default Rode a 450R...................not that impressed.

It was a friend of a friends quad and he let me ride it for a bit, i can honestly say i love my raptor. The 450R seemed like everytime i let off the gas it needed to be downshifted and revved back up, it bogged very...VERY quickly. It was very wierd too, the power just wasnt really what i thought it would be with all the hype about the 450's.

we also ran em down a gravel road and he smoked me off the line but 4th gear i caught him and walked passed him, it was like it fell fla on its face in top end.

anyone else ride the 450R, what did you think?

am i alone here in my thoughts?

opinions?

I feel the exact same way about them. What is the hype about? It is terrible. On pavement i raced one and he got about 1/2 a quad length ahead, low 3rd i flew past him.

Now the YFZ, thats a different story. They rev nothing like the 450r, and is much faster than them. The yfz-raptor race is much closer.

ive heard that about the YFZ.

havent ridden one or seen one on the trails yet, so i cant make statements about them.

the guy with the 450 actually wants to trade his 450R in on a Z400 he said, he likes my buddies Z400 better than his 450R, too bad my raptor took a sheet before he coulda ridden it, because i think he would have loved it.

i do agree with you guys as a 400 owner, throwing the sparks X6 on it was the best mod, it cleared all of this up, now you can ride tight trails in second going 5mph punch it, and the frounts in the air, it really made THAT much of a difference.

Nope, I didn't really care for the thumper tractor feel of the 450R

At least a grunty raptor can pull 3rd gear most anything.........

but stillllllll

I wouldn't want anything else than my twin Troy Lee Predators...best ALL AROUND quad I've ever had for sport use.

now if you're into full on racing, give me the YFZ 450, as both the YFZ and Predator are high fast revving machines, where the 450R is more along the grunt tractor rev pattern.
