Default 250 burning oil or what!?!?

my beartracker 250 has a lil problem... I think she is burning oil But i am not sure.. i know it smokes blue and smells like oil but heres the catch.. It's head gasket is leaking for sure and it looks like it might be dripping into the exahust and causing it to smoke blue and smell like it but i am not for sure?? SO how could i test to see if it is head gasket or needs a over haulin.. Is there a simple way to check and also i forgot to mention that at the beging on pipe therte is a lil steam like when you ride through water so that is another reason i think it is dripping in there. Well ok please tell me i just need a new head gasket please... thanks

just replace the head gasket. it's only a 15 dollar part, and if you've got the mechanical knowledge, it should only take a few hours if that. i rebuilt my first quad, my blaster, and it took me about an hour and a half. get the stuff you know is wrong fixed and go from there. then just do a compression. if it's low, squirt some oil in the cylinder and do it again. if you're psi goes up more than 5 or maybe 10, then it's time for rings.

Do the compression test, and check the spark plug...is it black and oily?
