Default Wolvy Diff fluids and Oil??

I havent changed my own differential fluid before because its been in the shop for other reasons and I've just had it done in the past while its there.

1) What do you all reccomend for my differential fluids, (type, brand, etc.) ?

2) Ive run motor oil other times but I know that your supposed to run an oil set up for a wet clutch soo. what motor oil do you suggest?

3) While ive got all your attention on me getting my Wolvy ready for the year if you have any other things I should do let me know. I know its got sealed bearings so dont need to grease those. I topped off the brake fluid a month ago so that doesnt need to be done. Bearings all seem to be pretty good, cleaned and re-oiled the filter before i shacked her up for the winter. Any ideas let me know.

Get a quart of differential fluid from the dealership. It is what is reccomended and it only takes a quart or less to do both the front and back.

Hey, I was looking at your pics and saw your winch setup. I am planning on doing somthing similar to that with the winch I just bought. Did you have to move the solid brake lines that are in that area for the front brakes or did you make it fit infront of them or somthing? any first hand experience things I should know. Im not going to do the weld I'll design it in cardboard and take it to my welder because he does real good work. I dont want to botch the welds on somthing like that.

I did not make the winch mount, it was on the machine when I bought it. However it was all bungled up by the previous owner.

You should be able to make the winch mount easy enough if you have moderate fabrication skills. Most factory winch kits will want you to relocate the oil cooler to behind the winch mount , by the brake lines you mentioned. This is where mince was when I bought it, however I felt this is a poor location since the air flow will be restricted. So I relocated the oil cooler to the stock position and lengthened one of the oil lines down where it comes out of the oil filter. It was an easy modification to make with apx. 12-15" of some 3/8" brake line and a metric flare fitting(both located at the local auto parts store) to fit the factory hook up. Then cut the factory crimp fitting on the oil line and take the factory metal tubing out. slip the rubber hose over your new longer pice of tubing and secure with a hose clamp. Then winch will then fit behind the factory bumper and in front of the factory frame. The longer oil line allows the line to be run above or below the winch motor. If you want I can try and take some more detailed pictures of the set up and email them to you. Let me know.
