Define trail. Crawling over tree limbs and spending lots of time in 1st gear isnt the banshee thing. Cleared out cruising trails arent bad though.

no they arent that bad like he said unless you are rock crawling. They do fine in trails if you know how to use a clutch and keep in the powerband. Really not that hard. The studdering and stalling is from those lazy testers who are used to riding the endless 4stroke powerband. It's not a z400 its a banshee. do you have to shift more, probably...But is it soo worth it, yes. People sputter and have problems when they decelerate and down downshift. You can get away with it on a four stroke but a two stroke you really cant.

it is more tiring riding a banshee on trails. You have to shift a lor more. I wouldn't recommend it for that type of riding at all but if you drag race also then you can alwasy make osme modifications to change your machine for whatever type of riding you do. Changing sprockets, getting bigger tires, skid plates and quards, etc. They will help your machine be more ready for the trails.

To me this subject is all about how much fun you are having. The Banshee is at its best and also the most fun when you can get it into 2nd, 3rd, and up and have opportunity to open it up and feel the very hard hit. The Banshee is not much fun putsing down some gnarly trail in first gear. Even tight sand dunes where you are constantly trying to figure out which way to get around some unknown ridgeback or wiches eye is not much fun on a Banshee. If I could only have one quad it would not be a Banshee. But since I need two so that grandkids can ride with me I have the luxury of being able to have both a Bansh and a 4-stroke. And by the way, a properly jetted Banshee doesn't stall, they start very easily, and they will idle smoothly. Clutch slipping is only needed in slow going when you need power and control right off idle. When I am ready for a fun time in easy conditions I will always take the Banshee. When I want to survive some unknown loop following some yahoo who likes to leave other guys broken and battered, I will take the 400EX and make it back to the truck.

Get the shee. Everyone puts it down and I'm not sure why. I love mine and I do trails alot and ride dunes. I always get all kind of looks when my shee is ripping it up. Only thing I will suggest is get some good front shocks as the stock one stink. I reccomend Works Dual Rate at rocky mountain for like 330 or so. Rear shock is very good. Good luck and if you want the SHEE get it. You friends will be Pi---- when you blow by them .
