Also keep in mind that the stock HP levels are as follows (at the rear tires):

400EX : 27hp
Raptor: 37hp
DS650 : 42hp

Just FYI...

also remember that the RAPTOR should be eating the Ds and the Ex like nothing, because of the hp to weight ratio, but that doesnt seem to be the turnout. The Ds is about 200lbs heavyer then the Raptor, and the Hp ratio is alot differnt, i own a ds650 and thought that the raptor would just inialate it, but i guess not? By the way i love those 400ex's!

Woah, lets not bet carried away, the DS doesn't outweigh the Raptor by anywhere near 200lbs, more like 60 lbs....

plain and simple, the DS is just a BADDARSE QUAD!!!!!! with a couple simple mods the raptor should be able to hang with a DS. But I also beleive that the Raptor should be smoking the DS stock for stock because of the weight and cc atvantage....

I was at little sahara too saturday and witnessed two, a blue and a black/grey raptor get beat. I have a 400 ex with a 14 tooth and k&n, WB rev kit and was surprised to have taken the black and grey one at 2/3 up the hill. He smoked me off the line but I cought up quick. The bike killed the ds and the ex's when he could start further back to build up the rpm's in second gear. Its the only draw back I believe in that bike. Mine will pull the face in second and the valley in third.

It does trust me. I raced and raced all weekend, no not in the sand, and beat the DS nearly every time. I also raced a piped Bancshee and bet him a few times. That's not to say I beat everyone every time. But the Raptor, in a drag race, will more than hang with a DS. I am not sue about the Banshee. Like I said, I beat a piped Banshee a few times in which I and the guy on the Banshee was impressed. I was smoking everyone on the hole shot by taking off out of 1st instead of 2nd. Of course all of this was happening with a bent axle.

You missed piped banshee's, a quadzilla, a piped trx250r, stock DS650, and my DS650 race a Raptor at Rocky Ridge on Sunday. The only one that beat me was the quadzilla, and not by much. And my carb jetting was off and my gearing a little too tall.

I am not saying the Raptor is the fastest...but it will compete. All I can say is at Shilo Ridge this weekend, I was more than holding my own against 2 DS650's and a piped Banshee. My buddies on the Ds650's could not hang at all....they are kinda in old mind,....So my other buddy who weighs about a buck ten, when wet and can ride anything, started racing the DS's. He beat me a few times but I usually won between the two. The Banshee was always coming on strong on top. Unfortunately we did not have the longest or best area to drag. I have yet to top out the Raptor, it's going to take a long ways. I think if you have DS650, Raptor or obviously a Banshee you'll be able to win some drag races. See ya soon at Rocky Ridge.

Maybe I"m just old, but my new Raptor (Yet to be in my hands) will please me just fine, if it performs like my 400EX. The ONLY reason I am buying the Raptor is for the Reverse, I only weigh 108 lbs, so my 2000 400EX with mods, has plenty of snort for me, but when push comes to shove, well, I have to push.

Reverse is a wonderful add on, but you guys can continue to race yours, at least I'll know what my machine is capable of
