Default wolverine ???'s

hey guys, it's been a while since i've been on here and i am thinking about getting another 4x4. I am coming from a 400ex, and i will have to keep up with a sportsman 700 and 400 polaris in the mud and trails. I want the feeling and speed of a sport bike because my friends have them, but still have functionallity in the mud, so i think i have decided to go with a wolvy. i am looking for some common probs with these and how good they go in the mud. also about what is the top speed on one. thanks

i looked at these for a long time and they seem to be good bikes they go about 55 and do fine in te mud and stuff and if you are riding tight trails you should be able to keep up with them easily. i would suggest a warn 424

Top speed for a wolvy is 55 - 60, handling is great, when mine was new and stock, I rode with sport quads and had no problems keeping up, and you can jump it pretty good, when needed. Mud is no problem, just don't put big mudder tires on, it is geared a little high, and will lose a lot of low end with big heavy tires. It mods well, the motor is the same as the Warrior, so pipes, carbs and filters for the Warrior will bolt right on. Like a lot of Yamahas, the air filter mount is junk, a foam seal held in by the lid, tends to leak, so an aftermarket clamp on adaptor is a good idea. For 200 bucks, the Warn 424 front end disconnect turns it into a sportier ride, and makes carving the corners much easier. A 348 cc motor is "small" now adays compared to the 500 - 800 monsters out there, but it is peppy, light ( 485 lbs dry) and handles very well for a full time 4x4 quad, and will run all day on the 3.4 gallon tank, while those heavy big boys are guzzling down twice as much fuel to run the same distance.

Yup, the Wolverines great power to weight ratio and quick handling makes keeping up with larger quads easy on the trail. My wolverine is only a month old, but I bought it knowing they have a reputation for being extremely reliable. I have no worries or regrets at all...

well if i get one i'll have to get a new one because there is not any used ones around where i live at all. i'm starting to think about getting a honda rancher or a polaris scrambler 500 if i don't get a wolvy. has anyone heard bad things about scrablers, i know honda has great reliability. aslo does anyone know a beat around the bush price for a locker for a honda.
