Yesterday i raced this cocky kid who thought because he owned a yfz he was unbeatable. We dragged and my KFX beat him by about 2 quads in two back to back races. He said the race "wasn't fair"[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] beacuse he didnt shift well, as well as other lame excuses. Ill be the first to admit that i should be getting smoked by the YFZ. Just explain to my firend here that a race is about ability, not just who has the biggest engine. If that were the case everyone would just bring thier quad to a dyno and get a medal based on the results of the test. I came to the yamaha forum so that i could show him that even yamaha fans would agree that its not the quad you have, its whether or not you know how to ride it.

i know this is off topic but where do you ride at exrider22? i ride at kitracks in oregon and foxvalley in ottawa

 

Well, if one person is a lot better at shifting, and riding, I'm sure it is quite possible.
I am curious as to why he has such a top of the line out of the box racer if he doesn't even know how to shift properly??

 

yeah i want to try those places... but i ride in Elgin, its a great spot, thers usually 30 people theri on saturday or sunady. The spot has a quarry with some jumps, {about a 28 foot table top} also it has a ton of wooded trails with stream crossings, hillclimbs, little whoops, and old railroad tunnels. I went thier yestaerday for about 4 hours. Let me know if you want specific directions and you can meet up with me and my friends.

Many buy them as a statice symbol. The YFZ is a well know top notch atv and wins many races and all the shootouts. So many inexperience riders buy them so they can go around and say they got one, but soon realize it's to much quad for them to handle. There are so many YFZ450 for sale in our local want-ad it's allmost funny. Many with very little hrs on them. The YFZ is a race quad plain in simple. My brother the other day met up with a young kid on a new YFZ at a sand pit. My brother has a 04 Pred and the kid wanted to race him and thought he would spank his POLARIS. Well lets just say after 2 races the kid left pretty bummin because my brother beat him bad. I mean smoked. But that's because he's been riding for years and the kid looks like he just started riding. But he thought just because he had the 450 he would win and that my brother had a polaris. Not saying my Brother would beat all YFZ, but people should know who there racing before they talk smack. Let there racing do the talking for you.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

yeah that describes the kid perfectlly. All day all i heard was lets race again,,, lets race again...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] I explained to him that my mommy,unlike his, wont go out and buy me new tires so i didnt want to screw around on the asphault all day. Plus i smoked him and he needed to learn that hes not invisable because he has a YFZ.
