Default Brand New 2001 Raptor

I was wondering about the 2001 raptor problems...do all of them have problems?...certain ones? Is it just the transmission? I found a dealer with a Brand New 2001 that has never been sold..Never been started..He said he cant sell it..everyone is afraid of the transmission...$3000 OTD is what he is asking.. To me it sounds like a good deal...Or should I keep looking..

I have an O1 with the orginal tranny but You might not be that lucky and if he offers a warranty with it I would definitely do it but if he wont give you a warranty look somewhere else.

p.s. I am not sure but I believe that the tranny was the only major problem with 01 raptors

My buddy bought a brand new 01' dirtbike last year and saved a ton of money. I say go for it, it would be hard to find a nice used one for that.

Man Im not sure but the good thing is you dont have to pay for it and you dont have to do the work yourself...also see you could extend the warranty for a little extra cheese b/c if it is brand new and never ridden then the tranny if it does go out might not go out for like a year or worst if your unlucky one day past the six month warranty

They have the upgrades for the 01 Tranny out. To be on the safe side, tell him that you will give him $3,000 or even $3,500 if he upgrades the tranny to the 02 and gives you the warranty. Then you will have a brand new bike, upgraded tranny, and the warranty at a very cheap price. On top of that, the dealer gets rid of it.
