Default Straight Pipe

I was racing my dad the other day and my pipe fell off. How, you wonder. The mount on the pipe was cracked in half, and it fell off the screw and it was put together with a pipe clamp at the mid-pipe so it slid off the back. It almost caught my dad who was behing me. Talk about LOUD! I heard that it is bad to run them with a stright pipe, is this true? I got it on with some soldering wire and a clamp now, but is it bad for the motor? I am about to get a HMF for my birthday so it don't matter, but just wondering.

The header pipe goes back far enough that it shouldn't cause any issues... I ran drag pipes on mine you can see in my gallery that were shorter then the mid point on the stock pipes, and when I tore the engine down over the winter the piston and vales all looked great. As long as it didn't throw your jetting off to far you will be FINE... plus you will be louder!
