decibal check?
like what range you have to be before they let you ride like say the dunes? silverlake in michigan started a while back and its kind of pointless your like in the middle of a little desert where no one can hear you? i dont know where everyone rides but just kind of curious if its all about the same?

Limit is 94, they routinely let 96's go in and they will try to look the other way up to 98. if you are around 100 you will need to remedy that because even a really nice attendant will have reservations about letting you in. Some guys put the bike in the back of their trucks and then unload them when they get to the dunes but I havent witnessed it and paid attention to see if it works.

Why do they have sound checks anyway? I can't figure it out. At least in the dunes where I mostly ride it doesn't make sense. Everyone out there is out there for the same reason, to ride. I have never heard anyone complain about how loud a bike is unless it was in a residential area or somethin like that. But out on the dunes, no one seems to care but the rangers. If there were some houses and stuff out there, then I could some what understand. Anyone have a GOOD reason why they sound check on the dunes?
