NEED Yamaha/ATV mechanic in IL
All,
I had the throttle stick on my 04 Grizzly last year, which caused me great injury. I do have a lawyer working on this case for me and we are looking for an experienced ATV mechanic to supervise Yamaha's inspection of my ATV in the next few weeks. I am located in the Chicagoland area and you will get compensated for your time. Please private message me if you can perform this function and have credentials to prove it.
Thank you in advance for all your help,
G

NEED Yamaha/ATV mechanic in IL
Well, this is 2005 and it happened last year. Seems like his cable would be fine. Let's assume he took the ATV training course. Let's assume he was traveling at a decent but respectable pace and his throttle stuck. He immediately hit the kill switch but time was against him. He went over the side of a hill even though he was on the brakes.
The point is that he needs an expert to help determine if anything is wrong with his ATV. Is it possible the cable was routed inproperly and stuck when the wheel was turned? Who really knows at this point since he doesn't go into much detail.
I am always amazed how much consumers believe a "company" is a person who is acting in his/her best interest the way a parent would. Since the beginning of time, companies have been pushed into safety since it is expensive. Your are probably too young to remember the Ford Pinto. Try keeping an open mind and stop thinking every time a manufacturer is sued it means the end of fun for everyone. It is actually the opposite. If the manufacturers don't use QA and best practices, more people will be injured and visiting hospitals thus ending the life of quads.
Ignorance is bliss. Enjoy life!

NEED Yamaha/ATV mechanic in IL
Guys,
With friends like you I surely dont need any enemies. First of all it was a brand new Grizzly with only 100 miles and 10 hours on it. I am 39 years old and have been riding dirt bikes, crotch rockets, AtV's, Jet Skis, snow mobiles and anything with a motor on it since before most of you guys were probably born. I know the difference between user error and a mechanical malfunction. AND YES by the time I figured out what was going on I hit the kill switch and flipped the ATV. This happens to be on video, while my girl was trying to video sport quad guys racing across a prairie. It all happened in 2-3 seconds, and the only out was hit the kill switch and turn right, or go over the edge of a steep hill with only tress and no trail. The law suit has been going on since the week after the accident and we are now in the stages of yamaha wanting to check out the ATV. The ATV has been sitting idle since the accident. I have already found many people that have had the same problem and luckily did not get hurt as I did. It appears to be a yamaha know issue, but not enough of a problem for them to issue a recal, in my mind THAT AINT RIGHT !! So if you have no help to offer, just move on to the next thread.
Thanks to those that support my cause and I apologize about the harsh reply in advance.
