I'm still deciding on what tires to get. I think I want the Outlaw 26x10x12's for the rear and Titan 589 25x8x12's for the front. I was leaning towards Titans all around (with 25x10x12 rears)but the Outlaw is a little taller and has better tread. Whaddya think?

I would go with the 25inch tires all the way around. The Wolverine doesn't have much low end and 25inch tires are probably the max tire size you want to with until you add some motor mods.

So is it size that affects the power more or is it the weight? Just wondering because the 26" Outlaws are about the same weight as the 25" Titans.

First of all, don't mix tire heights from front to back. This will have your front and back running at different ratios...not good. Either run 26" or 25" all the way around. I wouldn't run over a 25" tire. The wolverine is just geared too high. By putting taller tires on it you are doing the same thing as raising the gear ratio.

Go with the 589s or mudrunners in 25", also be prepared for a power loss which can be made up with a pipe and jet kit.

I have a 95 Wolverine with 25 inch Sur Tracs on it and I find these tires to be the best all around tire for this quad. There great in the mud and still good on all other kinds of terrain. One thing I found is to stick with the stock widths 25-10-12 rear and 25-8-12's front, I've seen my buddies go with the same size Blackwaters on all four corners and they have trouble turning them in the thick stuff. I also have added a DG pipe to compensate for the larger tires and also a Jet kit. One lesson I learned the hard way was not to buy an alloy pipe again, it has cost me more to have it welded then it is worth. If your thinking of an after market pipe look for a steel one .
