Default 1989 Yamaha Blaster

Complete Newbie to the Quad world. I just picked up a 1989 Yamaha Blaster YFS200W-R that runs beautifully. However never being an owner before and not wanting to wait for my Clymer manual to arrive next week I was hoping I might get some very simple questions answered.

1. This Quad uses an oil injection unit right?
2. if the above is true then straight gas in the tank?
3. What kind of oil in the injection reservoir?
4. I see a cap on the crankcase, does some sort of oil need to go in there too?
5. Lube the chain just like a motorcycle?

Sorry about this simplistic quesitons but I've never had one before. I appreciate your paitence and hope to get on this thing this weekend. I've only used it about half an hour last night, I was covered in mud and had a blast!

Thanks for the help!

3.well it needs to be 2 stroke oil but the brand dosnt really matter so yamahalube will work
4.that i cant answer..............it might be for tranny oil
5.yes but make shure the lube is o-ring safe if you have a o-ring chain

4. It is for transmission oil. be sure to change it every now and then. make sure it is at the proper level

Other than that, holeshotz had your questions right!

1. Yes, it has an oil injection system. If the plastic tank is gone from under the left fender than it has been blocked off and then you will have to premix your gas. If you premix it is best to run Amsoil Dominator at 50:1 with 93 octane premium gas.
2. True.
3. Just tell the dealer that you need Yamalube for a YAMAHA BLASTER, and they will get you the right oil.
4. That's the crankcase oil, you will need to change the oil every 8-10 rides. Again just get some Belray gearsaver or Amsoil from the dealer and tell them it's crankcase oil for the YAMAHA BLASTER.
5. Yeah, just get some Maxima spray chain lube and spray it every ride.
