i called up my local yamaha dealer today and asked how fast is the raptor and he told me it was about 75-80mph and i asked him about the yfz also he said around 100mph is that true?????

 

No i dont think so but i aint a mechanic i think that the raptor is around 75 and yfz is around like 80 but dont hold me to it and call your salesperson back and tell him that hes not cut out for the job<---- j/k hope this helps

 

the raptor has a faster top end speed. top speed depends on terrain.

 

the raptor has better top end and would beat a yfz in the long run but the yfz has better acceleration because the gear ratios so for the first 4 gears the yfz would win but in 5th gear the raptor would pull back ahead and win in the end if a long drag.

 

according to dirt wheels the raptor goes 73mph. according to atv action it goes 75mph. the yfz is around 68-70 i think.

 

yeah but all around yfz will rule... better suspension i think.. and just do a few mods even the cam mod it'll out run a raptor any day

There is no way a yfz does around 100mph the guy you talked to is on crack, from what i have heard they are both in the 74, 75mph range.

 

Raptor is better on trails, YFZ is better on tracks. According to atv rider the Raptor is better in dunes, but i dont live near any dunes so i wouldnt know. In drag races the YFZ does beat the Raptor up until the thing tops out, then the Raptor has a few mph on top. The guy at the yamaha dealer was just trying to make money. I usually ask questions when i go to dealers such as how fast does that Banshee go. Sometimes i get answers like 93 mph, its all about money cause stock Shees go 68-71. If i thought a YFZ went 100 mph i would go get one right now!
