Default blaster vs 400ex

Ya, blasters do respond really well to mods, if u got the money, and a good rider, it could very well be possible.

Default blaster vs 400ex

I don't wanna start a fight here but, A piped 400ex has around 30 ponies..A well ported 240 kit is pushing mid 40's..Plus the blaster probably weighs 75 lb's less than the 400 ex..But i will agree it does take a fair amount of cash to do it..I think a few of you have seen the vito's 240 kit's and assumed that is the best a blaster has to offer, believe me it's not..Take a look at shav0's blaster page..That thing would not just beat a 400ex it would embarase it....I am not saying that a blaster is gonna beat a worked 400 ex, but what i am saying a well built blaster is going to beat a piped 400ex..There is even a few video's of this very thing happening if you use the search button..Hell i can show you a dyno of a blaster on the stock bore(not even a 240) with a stock bottom end pushing 35 hp with 30lb's of torque..Just my 2 factual pennies

Default blaster vs 400ex

Why are people (except lethaface) comparing HP to HP; on a 2 stroke VS a 4 stroke....?????????????????
My 35-ish HP YZ250 will smoke the hell out of any 35-ish quad you can DREAM up!!!!!! there are too many factors....The 2 stroke will rev WAY faster and higher, but has no torque......so weight plays a big roll!!!......gearing, ECT!
Why do you think that in MX they allow a 450-4 stroke run in the same race with the 250-2 strokes?????????
2strokesceamer I cant personally tell you either way if you'll win....a 400ex is pretty powerfull, and even with your mods, you still have a small cc size.

You just contradicted yourself. Your right, the yz250 may have equal hp but it is crazy fast because of the way that its built and the fact that its only spining one wheel. However, you continue on to say that cc's matter? So which is it? I've seen built stock bore banshees smoke the crap out of raptors, v-force's, yfz's...and it only has half the cc's dosn't it? Everyone is so hung up on a built blaster beating a 400ex but again i think your under estimating it's potential. When I built my blaster up I didn't even have the 400ex in sights because it's a joke to me now. There are bigger and better quads to hang with rather then a silly 400

This has nothing to do about the blaster vs. 400ex. But is the reason a 2 stroke has so much power is because it doesn't have to turn a timing chain, to the cam, in turn to the rocker arms (or not), and to the valves. Which push agains the valve springs. What i am getting at is there is less internal parts to be moved. So the crank can turn more freely, and faster. Am i right. Is this where a 2 stroke gets its power?

A two stroke takes litterally two strokes or two revolutions to make a full cycle on the engine where a 4 stroke takes four to make a cycle. That is whey there is such a difference in sound as well as power on them. Yes there are less parts but its all about the stoke! LOL

LOL, it was a little late when I posted that..........cc's DO matter to a point. My main point was the HP VS HP makes is kinda like apples VS oranges on 2 stroke VS 4 stroke in this case. I think I worded that right.........

Your right, 2 wheels vs 4 is usually no comparision.

Thats part of it. I believe your talking about rotational mass. Less weight is easier to spin, which is the whole theory on lightened flywheels and such.
