Grizzly 660 won't start !! ??
#1
After about 5 hours of pulling kids around at our church picinic I headed home. About 1 1/2 hours later I hopped back on it to take it off the trailer. It made a little pop, kinda just sounded like a little backfire to me. Well after that it wouldn't start. If you let it turn over for a bit it will actually speed up a little like the sparkplug is loose and its spitting out air. Anyone else ever have a similar problem.

WOW THAT SUCKS , IM TRYING TO THINK , DO YOU HAVE SPARK? ALWAYS CHECK THAT AND FUEL 1ST. WHICH EVER ONE YOU DONT HAVE CHECK FURTHER , THATS TOO BAD THAT YOU FEEL THAT WAY OF YOUR GRIZ , MAN MY 04 HAS NEVER EVER FAILED TO START EVEN AFTER I PUT MY MODS ON . WAS THE PLUG WET? WAS IT DUST WHERE YOU WERE RIDING , CHECK THE AIR FILTER? SOMETIMES IF YOU TRAILER THEM WITH THE GAS VALVE ON THEY WILL FLOOD THE CYLINDER. TAKE THE PLUG OUT ,TURN GAS OFF AND CRANK IT A BIT TO BLOW THE GAS OUT OFF CYLINDER, THEN TRY A NEW PLUG . ALSO 03 I THINK THEY HAD A FUEL PROB . VAPOR LOCKING HAS THE KIT BEEN PUT ON ? GOOD LUCK

Your right, the 03's did have vapor locking probs. But that was fixed. I haven't checked the spark, just thought of that tonight too. I'll try that after work tomorrow. It just might be the stator. Its just odd it would have went out that fast.

Checked the spark and I have it. Anybody else have any clue? I checked any kinked hoses and lines. I'm might take the carb out and inspect it. Don't know what I'm going to look for though.

Is the plug wet? If it isn't, take the line off the fule tank going to the carb. and make sure you have flow, and go from there. If it is wet, check your compression. Hope this helps! Happy trails

If you fueled up at the picknick, you might wanna check the fuel type. I know it might sound stupid, but there might be a chance teh wrong stuff got put in it and that could be your problem.

An easy way to check if gas makes it to the carb, is to open the drain on the bottom of the float bowl, this will also help to flush out any sediment which has settled to the bottom of the float bowl.
Have you tried to start it , by holding the throttle at 1/4 open? with full choke?
Next up...compression check. Hows the coolant level?
