Today at the dunes i raced a 450 r a few runs and he beat me once and we were even the other two times and that is the best performance i have seen from a 450 so far.I should add that this guy was doing rolling starts that were hard to time just right but still he was very fast. How many of you who have run across a 450 r that could hang with your fully built 690,just curious. This was in 300 feet and in a longer race my displacement usually lets me gain ground so the outcome may have been different. This must have been a big bore but just how far do they build the 450 as far as displacement goes?

i have a yfz450 and have no problem with 450r's one could be he's a better rider than you.. or he really didnt have a 450r engine in that bike possbily very modified 450r engine etc... it all comes down to that if you were stock for stock you should whoop him also those 450r's are a lto lighter than you too...

My YFZ beats my Craycraft 686 Rappy pretty consistantly, so I wouldn't doubt that the 450R could win. A well modded 450R with a good rider can be just as fast as an equally modded YFZ, although they've never beat me The only Raptors I've lost to on my YFZ are the ones from Jefferson, those are some fast bikes! I've raced them a few times at Comp hill in South Jetty. At the top of the hill my front tires would be at about their rear, so he didn't kick my a$$ too bad After getting my YFZ I haven't been to impressed with the Raptors anymore.

I have been outrun by 1 and only one yfz450 on a consistant basis. That was a full on drag bike by finish line racing. I am not in anyway putting them down(450's). The Yamaha and Honda 450's are very nice and fast. There is a sparks built yfz that runs well here locally but he is still not as quick as mine. There is also a very quick local 450r.I did see a 450r at a dragstrip that was on nitromethane and was wicked fast till it blew up. I never had the chance to run him.
