I would go with an exhaust first. It's easier to install, it adds to appearance as well as performance, and you're going to end up getting one sooner or later, so do it now. I may be wrong on this, but I think you will notice a bigger difference with a stock cam and after market exhaust, then with a stock exhaust and after market cam. Just my .02.

get a dyno-jet jet kit, some manufacturs provide you with a jet-kit. no questions asked get a exhaust before you put in a cam. you wont notice any differece with a new cam and a stock exhaust. your main question should be which pipe should i get. get one taht is going to work well with the your stage 1 cam. also if you have any other engine mods your thinking of getting down the road. ie.. carbs or a bigger bore, make sure you purchase a pipe that is going to let you get full potential of you mods other wise why other.

I would get an exhaust system first and then get the cam. You will notice a big difference with a pipe since the stock pipe is so stuffed up.

Start at the begining, first get rid of the airbox lid. Go with a clamp on style adaptor. You will have to jet for this so most guys do this and a slip on at the same time. I advise getting a slip on that you will want to turn into a full system by adding a header. The header is not necessary on a stock motor. Now, you want to decide now what you use the ride for. If you race, leave the motor now and go with suspension mods. If you dune, now is the time for motor work. Stage 1 or 2, webcams? These are personal mods depending on what you want. I went stage 2 because I ride Jericho Ut, and St. Anthony Idaho and they are open so low end isn't as need as top end. Drop me a note if I can answer anything else. Try to find the guys in here that have the mods you think you want and talk to them. It did and sometimes the stuff I thought I wanted I found later that it wasn't right for what I do.

Hossblur, you sound like you know your stuff. I am thinking about getting a Pro Circuit slip on. I ride trails and some sand pits/dunes, but mostly trail riding. Do you know if that is a good pipe for that type of riding? and is the rejeting difficult? Thanks.

Hey guys, i got a 03 Raptor Limited Edition, just bought myself the Looney Tuned Dual exhaust system with the GYT-R multistage air filter setup. I also need to buy jets for the carbies. Does anyone know or recommend the preferred sizes to run for optimum performance. And does anyone have any feedback on the Looney tuned exhaust??

Sorry I don't know about Pro Circuit pipes. I got mine by going out to the dunes where I ride and asking guys. Most guys in this sport are really helpful and like to talk about there machines. Jetting difficult? Yes and no. THe pipe you get will give you some numbers that will get you close. The carbs are a pain in the azz to get to, not difficult, just a pain. After that, difficulty depends on your wrench ability and understanding of the carb. My advise, is do it right the first time, and plan ahead. If you have a plan of what your going to do, then you won't buy something that your going to replace down the road. Do a search for jetting, it will help, also buy a manual, they are worth their weight in gold.
