Default My first big wreck!!!!

Today me and a buddy of mine went to a public track down here where I live and had a lot of fun..........TILL

I was going around a corner on the track and my tires are fairly worn and I was sliding around the corner and it slid me to far around and caught me sideways when I should have had it straight and it shot me forward and it flipped completely over right behind me, landing back on its wheels. I landed on my side and slid the rest of the way on my back. You have no idea what was going through my mind. LOL.... My back looks like I was drug behind a pickup and I have scrapes and bruises on the side I landed on. The top of my ribs hurt pretty bad where my elbow jammed into them, I am hoping that they are just bruised. I will see how I feel at work tomorrow. And just my luck I work at Autozone Dist. Cent. and my job is to lift heavy items. LOL, so much fun.......... My Raptor handled it real well. The handle bars were bent down so I had to loosen the nuts and straighten them and get all the acc. back in order. Well, I thought I was in good shape till I noticed that my throttle housing, where the cable goes into it, that metal part snapped, so my wire is slightly exposed. I am going to take my throttle housing apart and drill the hole out a little larger and stick some of the snapped part in there and JB-Weld it together. I think that will work. I had a lotta fun, and I had a helmet on, but I will DEFINATELY be purchasing riding gear and protection in the near future.

haha...well everyone has atleast 1 big one...some just have them more then others!! as the saying goes, theres riders that have been down....and riders that are going down!

Doesn't sound like it was too bad, but atleast your okay.

My worst was 6th gear pinned on my warrior...clipped the rear tire of my friends 400ex who was going slow along railroad tracks. We were going thro puddles that he usually used to hydroplane across, so I decided to this time, and what do you know...he doesn't! I went flying flipped like 4 times, quad flipped about 10 times....brand new bent pro tapers, bent steering stem, bent nerf bar, busted and broken headlights, and snapped thumb throttle. I got up immediatly and couldn't breath for about 3 mins. I was fine after about 10 mins...my friend said that was the scariest thing hes ever seen lol..besides big scratches and barely being able to walk for about 2 weeks.....I was fine

Glad to Here You are Ok, I have a Spare Thumb Throttle For a Shee it Might Fit your Rappy. You Can Have it if you want it. I Had a Wreck like that about 2 Months ago. at Lake Murray in Ardmore Ok. I Went to Go over a Rather large Table Top on a Wheelie but i hit the Throttle to Hard. Ended up shooting Straight up in the air Landed on The Rear Tires. I went Left the Quad went Right I Hurt my Shoulder but that was it. The Shee Came out Fine I Flipped it Back over Got it Started and Finished the Day of Riding. My Shoulder is Still a Little Sore. And Yes I was Wearing a Helmet.

That sucks maybe an investment into some new tires will be benefical to ya... But hey it happens to the best of us. At least you weren't close lined by wire protecting a field. When I was young I was riding my 250 trailblazer into a field and some a$$hole farmer put up a wire to kept us out but he never put reflective tape to help us see it and well a broken nose later and I was pretty pissed off

I feel your pain, I too have found myself sliding around a corner and ending up on the ground. My friend and I used to race around on gravel logging roads and as long as you got inside line you were good, my Lt 250R (Bike at the time) slipped out of the line and I was slidding towards the cliff, I was in fourth gear and couldn't stop, the LT's axle got caught on a tree stump and stayed, I on the other hand tried to be super man and went off the bank. I was lucky that the grade of the drop off was so steep, I landed in some kinda roling fashion until I hit my head on a tree which finally stopped me. I had to climb about 40 yards up the cliff to back to the road. Helmet saved my life. Came out with some good bruising, scrapes, and sore muscles but other wise okay. Had to get the axles on the bike straightened out along with new axle bearings and carrier.

Wrecking is never an good thing. Sorry to Martino if it
seemed I was coming down on him. That was not my intention.

Back to subject!!
My oldest son had a bad wreck this weekend on his 300ex. The lower shock mount broke off the a-arm while jumping. When he landed, it pitched him off frontward and fliped the qaud about 2 1/2 times. Bent lots of stuff, but nothing that can't be fixed. Bruised him up a bunch, but he did have his riding gear on and was able to limp away ok.

Yea wve all had some bad wrecks. Last year I got a brand new 2005 Big Bear and took it out to my friends house right from the dealership. We unloaded it and my dad left and went went to some trails. I went on this trail and didnt have enough speed going up the side of a hill. It got caught and started rolling sideways. I stayed on and the quad rolled over me. I must have been in a small hole becuase if not i would have been more eriously hurt with the quad rolling over me and then i stayed on and the quad after rolling once and landong on the wheels threw me off and i flew probably 10-15 feet before hitting the ground. The speedo wire came out of the bottom and the bars were psuhed down. Also the left side of the rear rack is bent down a little from the weight on it. Other than that it was just bruises and cuts on me. My friend also had a bad experience on the first day of getting his BB. Him and his sister were going through the woods him on his BB and her on there dads Rancher. They went down into a little ditch and he told her to stay there as he went through. He stopped on the other side and looked back just as she came flying through and wheelied up and onto the back of his rack. Bent it all up.
