Default occasional drowning out

Has anyone had any problems with your bike loosing power when you get into the mud? It's happened to me a couple of times; I get into the mud good and deep and its like the reverse rev limiter kicks in when I'm in forward. (I have done the bypass on the rev limiter). I don't know if water is getting to my air filter or if I'm drowning out the electronics. I can stop dead in the water in neutral rev it a couple of times and it will finally straighten out but it is rather anoying. It only happens every once in awhile and that's why I can't find it. HELP?!?!

The bro has a Recon and it did the same thing. There was all this grit in the carb when I broke it down and it was getting caked onto jets and other nasty poo like that. Might wanta have a look at that carb...

sounds to me like your spark plug is getting water on the exterior and it causes the engine to misfire when in water deep enough to cover the spark plug....take off your sparkplug boot and fill the boot with some kind of Die-Electric grease....it will keep water out and keep the plug from misfiring....when you put the boot back on make sure it's down all the way....it will stop doing what it does....

Spray water on the carb housing while it's running. I did that with my brother's Recon, and we found out that everytime he'd drive into water his Recon would shut off. Turns out it was an O-ring leaking around the choke shaft!

If there are any leaks around any of those shafts going into a carb, the carb always having a vacum on it, sucks water, air, steam of the pipe hitting the water, or whatever it can, and upsets the air fuel ratio, and causes problems.
