Default yfz problems

anyone have any problems with their yfz sputtering out as you put any kind of load on the throttle?

my mechanic thought it was bad gas at first, but the same thing happened again. We are thinking it could be electrical. Just wondering if anyone else had had this problem. Oh, BTW spark plug was very white when I changed it out.

Thanks,
Jeff

It sounds like you are running lean. What jetting are you currently at and what elevation do you ride at.

Yeah, pops alot. I have been running 100 octane with stock jetting. Think if I adjust the jetting that should take care of the problem?

Thanks

Try putting in a 45 pilot and a 160-165 main and adjust from there. The YFZ runs lean from the factory. What other mods have you done?

dont listen to this yahoo he doesnt know what hes talking about. i took mine to a yamaha dealer and the did everything they could think of and on day i was in a atv forum and someone suggested to drive with the lights on and i havent had any problems since.yamaha made it so running with your lights on keeps the electrical system charged thats why when your fan kicks on it doesnt drain your battery.
