hey zimraptor calm down. my friend and cousin each own one and they both spend more time in the shop then on the trails. I have gotten a lot of practice on how to tow them though. I like the raptor because the engines have so much potential, the 2001's though are crap.

yeah, every four stroke ever made never had any problems right? the trans are crap on enough of the 2001 models for people to take notice. The frames were crap on the older kfx's and z's. companys all have problems, you guys just cant seem to admit it. Im looking forward to the new raptor though, i think it might be a great quad now that its lower and has evwn MORE power.

I hate to tell you all this, but the motor is just a regular 660 punched out to 686, with a beefed up tranny and a redesigned head. Still a SOHC engine Which sucks! Go to yamaha . com and check it out. Go to international motors and click on the 2006 Raptor 700. Looks likes a cheapened up 350 Raptor. But hey it is wide long and low. HELZ YEAH.

686 from the factory. EFI. 1" longer wheel base. A tad under 3" wider. A tad under 2" shorter seat hight. They should have put in a 10:1 piston who knows if they put in a better cam.
But with that said. It all looks good to me. Slap in a 12:1 piston and a good cam and you've got a great quad, provideing the rod holds up but hey, can't have everything.
