If Yamaha wants to change things in a hurry they should drop thier R-6 engine into one of thier atvs, light weight, four stroke inline four, fuel injected, lots of horses. With a little work it would be possible and would start a whole new breed of high performance machines.

I think they could sell it, I just don't know if they would ever make it. It would be fast . Who knows, no one thought they would ever put an R-1 engine into one of thier snow machines either.

yeah, but those snowmobiles are capable of hitting 120+ mph.

on a groomed snowmobile trail that might be feasable, but i know the trails around here and they are not groomed, or even maintained. they are very crappy, and i can say that 50mph max is pushing it.

It would be sweet to have a quad like that, but i dont think it will ever happen.

Haha saying Yamaha isn't interesting as it is? Totally agree

Haha I'm just kidding, but I think putting a Hyabusa Engine in one would be cool...Of course I'm sure everyone that bought one whether it be R1 or Hyabusa Engine would die within the first hour of having it, haha

I agree with blackbird. It would severely damage our sport. This is one reason many high performance quads come detuned compared to their motorbike predecessors.
