Warrior will not start, it just "CLICKS"
#1
I can pop start my 2001 warrior but it will not start when pressing the start button. I hear a click toward the rear of the bike, I looked underneath to see the starter's solenoid and it seems to be what clicking and shaking when I hit the start button. It will not turn over, do you think this means I should be looking into replacing this solenoid? Any good online parts stores with some cheap prices? Thanks!

ya its either your battery or your solenoid, my friends warrior does that all the time because the solenoid is either broken or loose but if you need to get it started just pull start it or just keep moving your solenoids around until u get it

Take your battery out and have it tested, then go from there.

reach down there with one hand while tryiong to start itand jiggle the solenoid around, if it starts, then its probably a bad solenoid or a loose wire connection, mine did this too, tightened the wire connection and it hasnt done it since.
try the wiring before a new solenoid though for sure.

The first thing I checked was the battery, it checked out. I also did move the wiring around, seemed like it was on to the soleniod pretty tight, I don't have access to the starter without taking the plastic off correct? I will try to retighten the wires on the solenoid, then what should be my next step?

i highly doubt its the starter, try removing the wire that goes from the batery terminal to the solenoid and leaning it up and check the connections. Clean the connections with a wire brush and then reconnect them tightly, put a little bit of grease or vasaline over the connection wire on the solenoid, this will keep water and mud from corroding and rotting the wire or post.
if this doesnt work i bet its the solenoid, i dont know how to check it or if you can, but new solenoids are like 30 dollars at yamaha shops, so its not too bad.
try this and let me know.

How was the battery tested? If it wasnt load tested, then its still unkown if its good or not. The only real test of the battery condition is a load test...any auto parts store will do this for free.

ok I'll go back to the batter testing stage also. I cleaned contatcts and checked voltages, I will try jump starting it and if it starts then its most likely the battery.
