raptor- iots 4 stroke and its a newer quad, and the engine is not being squeezd for performance like the banshee its a big engine so they have allowed it to produced loads of torque and its not being pushed<<< i havent exp that too well but some one will know how to explain it to you lol.

On my Raptor the only thing it ever needed was a Valve clearence adjustment. My friend needed to rebuild his engine in his 2-stroke Banshee. Some of the 2001 Raptors have had tranny problems [Not mine]. As far as reliable goes i have to say 4-strokes are more reliable beacuse they require less maintence. [going by past experience]
