Well, honestly... the place were I did some uphill rocky terrain climbing was about 2800 feet elevation, glamis is much lower, ocatillo wells is probably sea level, (or lower!)
Pismo beach is obviously sea level, Ive ridden in Prescott Valley AZ, (5300 feet) and aside from the power loss from the high altitude, the bike has never ran bad.
Ive never opened up the carbs to rejet, and I have not replaced even one spark plug since ive had it. The rejetting issue is very much over exaggerated.
Of course you need to be sure that you are never running lean. (Such as having perfect jetting for 5300 feet, then going to pismo beach)
My bike is jetted for sea level-1500 feet maybe, but running her up in northern AZ at 5300 feet she never gave me any problems. Im sure it was running a little rich, but the bike never bogged, loaded up, fouled a plug, or anything. It did not care.
Banshees are much more reliable than I had thought before I got mine. At least MY banshee, anyways. Cant speak for a beat down bike, naturally.
