Raptor Chain Adjustment

Raptor Chain Adjustment
I'm a little worried that i have done something wrong and i need some input on this topic. I have a 04 yamaha raptor 660. When i got around to adjusting the chain for the first time since i got it. I was a little confused so i read the owners manual and tighten the chain, but the marks on the rearend are a quarter off and every time i would try to get them to line up both sides would move instead of just one side moving. Im affraid that the axle is riding sideways instead of straight. If anyone could tell me what i should do i would be very thankful. Thanks.

Raptor Chain Adjustment
first of ll there are 2 bolts on the rear axle, not the small adjustment bolts, bigger ones, one on top and one directly below it. They should be 15 and 17 MM nuts on the right side of them if squated down at rear of quad. Loosen those nuts up, not all the way just a fair amount. Then on top where those 2 small bolts are, loosen the lock nuts on both of them and either tighten or loosen the BOLTS themselves until the chain is at the right tension and is aligned side to side with the marks.
Then make sure to tighten the nuts down on top of the carrier after bolts are at the right adjustment on either side, after nuts are tight check to make sure marks ar still aligned, then tighten the bigger bolts on to top side and under side of the carrier.
this is exactly how i do this so it should work for you.
ALSO, when tightening or loosening the chain remember that when you sit on the seat the chain gets tighter than it is when sitting there without weight on it. So when adjusting chain always sit on it and make sure theres enough play when your on there.
GOOD LUCK
