Honda 250R vs. Raptor
#12
I know this is the Yamaha forum but lets put this one to rest here. My modifed 270R honda puts out 55 Rear wheel horsepower and weighs 345 lbs(wet). The raptor weighs 422(wet) and has 42 rear wheel horsepower. I raced one and completely blew it away. That is drag racing and anything else but gas mileage and sound output the Raptor gets smoked. And as for MX racing look in the magazines. You won't be seeing stock framed Raptors replacing the 250R in TT,flattrack either. The Raptor is an awesome sport bike, but in the realm of racing the 250R still reigns supreme.

My friend has a 250R w/ DG pipes, K&N and I have a 400EX W/ WB Pipe, K&N. He beats me top speed (6 spd) but I usually win him off the line up to 3-4th gear. I have beat him a couple times in 300 Yd drags. Another friend has a 295R he beats us both and has beat Banshees. And yet another friend has a LT250R. I beat him consistantly. They all say after riding my 400 that "I gotta get me one of those"..

I guess you're referring to my 'signature'. It was more of a joke. You know how some people put everything they own on their signature. Actually I sold my Prelude last week so I guess it's time to update. I just know quality when I see it...and when it's proven to me time and time again. Drew.

I drag raced a few Raptors at Silver Lake a couple weekends ago..both me and the Raptor guys had 8 paddle haulers...I would usually beat them by a length, they'd beat me if I wheelied off the start, I think I would have done better if my R was setup more for dune riding and not woods, there were several OEM cylindered R's 5-6 lengths ahead of me.
