Default Frame/A-arm question

you see it on t.v. , its a truck bed liner. I was watching extreme 4X4 the other day and they coated their rock crawler frame with it. I'm just wondering if anyones done this, if they like it, and if it adds alot of weight or not.

You know, that's actually a pretty cool idea!

Rhino Lining, X-Lining or any other type of bed sealer/protection lining would work fine...I would think.

As far as weight goes, I'd be willing to bet which ever lining that you have sprayed on would not weigh as much as metal/aluminum a-arm gaurds.

I'm going to look into this myself...just got some +3 Herrmann A-arms.

Again, great idea!

Default Frame/A-arm question

Rhino lining has a rough texture, and is some what expensive. I think powder coating [powder paint] would be better, and more durable than wet paint.

i know it has a rought texture, but i think it still looks good. Plus its gaurenteed for life or they will respray it, where powercoating chips after awhile.

You can get it in many different colours. I see truck shows that do this to the frame/parts underneath and they have nothing but good things to say about it.

Default Frame/A-arm question

I suppose rhino lining is more durable than powder paint, and wouldn't hurt anything, but I want my frames/a-arms/swing arm smooth and glossy. I do know for a fact, once a piece of steel gets powder painted, it's damm difficult to remove the paint, even media blasting won't remove it all. At work, when we need to remove powder paint from steel, we use blow torches to burn it off.
