Raptor 700 Tippy?
#1
Not trying to offend any Raptor 660 owners, but I heard they were tippy? If so, have they corrected this on the 700? I am thinking about buying one and trading in my v-force. I love my V, but the weight wears me out in tight woods. Also I talked to a yamaha dealer today, and he said that the 700's wouldn't be rolling out for about another month.

yeah.. the 660 craptors were tippy. yamaha changed the dimensions of the 700 to be basically the stance of a YFZ. it also weighs 2 lbs less.. so the 06 craptors should be a lot better than the past craptors.. i hope they are.

It is a good bit wider than the old Raptor660 so I would imagine it's not as tippy. The center of gravity is about the same in the frame but the additional width should make it a nice ride.

It's just like anything else, go for the hardest thing to get used to and when you've got it mastered, then you're the best at the easy stuff. The raptor was tippy at first, but now that I'm used to it, I can sling anything around with no problem. It's also not as bad as some people make it out to be.

I feel the new 700 will handle very good. It will be the best open class quad.
As far as my 660 being tippy, I kinda got used to it. I enjoy riding on my side wheels in a straight line. Besides wheelies, I think it's fun.
