Default 660 vs. 700 raptor

i dont think the 700 is out yet but is their going to be such a big difference in power that it is going to make it a lot better....it just don't seem like roughly 40cc's are going to make it crazy fast compared to the 660....also handling....is it going to be better or worse or same....and last but not least...suspension...rough or smooth....thanx for any input....i am just wondering about them....

compare them on the yamaha site. the 700 is going to be a lot better but not TOOOOO much faster. it IS a completely different engine. remember cc's arent everything. i think it has a rezzi for the rear shock so the suspension will be nicer. im dont remember about up front. maybe more travel. it will handle a WHOLE LOT better because it is wider and longer now. not TOO wheelie happy and no tippyness. i think the seat height is also lower. picture a comfy yfz with a raptor engine in it.

The old raptors have it too. And well, I bet it will perform better. IMO, it will be faster. It too, will handle better since it will be wider and will have more wheel travel. The EFI is a plus too, there will be no more need to re-jet two carbs.

how much wider is the 700...where i am from wider isn't better in most cases...i only ride woods and catching trees with tires is an easy thing to do...

It is the same width as the YFZ450. and it is only an inch taller then the YFZ. But it is supposed to be alittle more forgiving then the YFZ in the suspension department. Strongtyer said it perfectly a raptor motor in a YFZ frame that is quite as rough. It also has fuel injection and a hole new motor design with an alumium and stell frame compared to an all steel frame. I am selling my YFZ for one

Depending on how choked up they are stock the 700 should be ALOT faster then the 660. You have to consider that would be like running a 686 against a stock rappy. Also it depends on how well the EFI works, how well the head work flows... yada yada... It will depend on alot of variables but the 686 should be FAST.
